Best Weekend Getaway : The Grand Canyon Skywalk

http://grand-canyon.com/glass_bridge1x.jpg If you are an adventurous person ( and aren't afraid of heights), then you should check out the all new Grand canyon Skywalk. This multi-million pound open-air glass bridge extends over the canyon 70 feet and suspends over the canyon 4,000 feet! Owned and operated by the local Hualapai Tribe. They are working on a visitors center adjacent to the bridge and are making safety precautions so that to prevent slipping into the canyon. (That would definitely hurt) To build the bridge, it will have to be rolled over the edge of the canyon. Then it will be tested. Actually, it isn't part of the real Grand Canyon Park, but part of the canyon itself. It will open in March '09 and will host a 'First Walk'. The first public figure to step on the walk will be announced.
The bridge is open dawn to dusk; $25 per person.
