Medicine Notices; Peanut Butter Cracker Recalls and Sepsis Strikes Again

Lately, there has been a recall in peanut butter products by the Lynchburg-based Peanut Corp. because Kellogg Co. fears that the crackers might contain salmonella. The suspected companies are Austin, Little Debbie and Keebler. Although this is the most common cause the nationwide salmonella outbreak, Kellogg says that there are other sources too. So far, the salmonella has sickened 430 people in 43 states. On Tuesday, one person died in Minnesota and two in Virginia. Also stay aware of the peanut butter under the names Parnell's Pride and King Nut Co (but don't worry too much; the peanut butter is not sold in retail stores.)

As you might have heard, the Brazilian model da Costa has just recently died from sepsis. Sepsis is a very fatal disease which starts with a urinary tract and spreads. The result for da Costa was the amputation of her arms and legs. Also killed from this disease is the creator of the Muppets and a lady called Mrs. Flatley who caught the disease in the hospital while being treated for something else. The usual syptoms are high fever and large drops of raises in your blood pressure. Many doctors nationwide say that to prevent this disease is to use the bathroom regularly.

This has been your Medical Notice. We hope you have enjoyed it.
Thank You,

Dr. Adam Came To Visit NFS

On Wednesday the 14th, 2009, Darfur refugee Dr. Adelgaber Adam came to NFS to speak about the genocide happening in Darfur. One of our reporters reported on the lecture and came back with some interesting facts.

First of all, let us explain about Dr. Adam. Dr. Adam is Darfur refugee who is the founder and president of the Darfur Human Rights Organization of the U.S.A. He goes around holding lectures in various schools and other places of importance such as the United Nations, speaking about the terror of the Darfur genocide and how it is up to the world to stop this. His organization is set up in Philadelphia, PA, and delivers supplies to the refugee camps in eastern Chad, a country in northern Africa. The genocide is taking place between North and South Sudan. The government and population of North Sudan consist of Arabs, while the South is Christians and other related religious groups. In simple words, it is what you could call another Holocaust caused coming from the terrorist group Al-Qaeda and Osama Bin Laden, starting in the mid ‘50s’.Villages are burned, bombed and many of the residents are taken into slavery. It is estimated that at least 2.5 million people were killed between ’56 and to ’03.Those who are lucky flee to the West into the safe country of Chad on camel, horse, donkey or any sort of transportation. There, they join a refugee camp. In a regular camp, there are at 18,000 people and 14,000 of them are children. The children of the camps are severely malnourished and what they need most is clean water. To buy two pumps, that would cost $4,000. In a single day their food provides them with only 1,000 calories, compared to our 2,000 calories. Many of the children are orphaned because the women are usually taken into slavery, leaving the children to be adopted by another family. They are provided with a small education, attending the camp’s school. Before an attack, the usual advice given to child by the mother is: run. The fathers are mostly never there; they are fighting off what they can. And when they return, they will find a blackened village with no one to be found. Because of this, nearly everyone is displaced. Some have connections and make it to America, others stay. Dr. Adam made a point out of the fact that all the leaders of the world just talk, but don’t take action. That is why it is up to the ordinary civilian to help by making donations that will be taken straight to Chad into the camps by members of the organization themselves. So before you throw out any clothes, please remember the people of Darfur.

Clueless New York Giants

Clueless New York Giants! Is it true?

Up there in New York, last week, the Giants were contemplating there win strategy. Apparently, Donovan McNabb was their reason for worry. According to a search on Google™, “Run out McNabb, we will have a better chance of winning” say the Giants. Just last week, they lost to the Vikings! How is that even possible!? These are the Giants we’re talking about! Is it possible that this season isn’t going to go to well with the Giants? Plus, they just lost to Eagles!

A Letter From the Weekly Cheese Team

A Word or Two from the President of The Weekly Cheese

Dear Reader,
Go Eagles! (Good try Giants.) We hope you are enjoying our newspaper and you will probably enjoy it even more when I’ll tell you that we have our own website: weeklycheese.blogspot.com. Remember not to type www. This is our first step on the way to becoming a greener newspaper. Instead of wasting trees and paper, you can subscribe to our website (there’s a link; thus saving another tree. We also have created our own email account for questions and comments at weeklycheese@gmail.com. We always love to hear from the reader. A recent comment from whose name shall not be revealed, suggested that we broaden our number of articles and have more comics. So, of course, we have taken this into deep consideration. So look for changes in this weeks’ issue! Going back to the website thing, we actually have three websites; one of them is for our Dear Edgar section. This is where you can write to ‘Edgar’ about your problems (which will never be revealed) and Edgar will write back to you as soon as possible. This is at edgarhelp.blogspot.com. Remember: do not type www. Same thing for our affiliated partners website. This website is an affiliated newspaper partner of the Weekly Cheese and we are glad to advertise their unique and up-to-date website. Here, they have everything you need to catch up with the world. Plus, they have voting polls and a Mini TV, provided by everybody’s favorite, YouTube. Updated every week at weatherby-breakingnews.blogspot.com. Please remember the www. rule. So that’s what’s going with our websites. Now, the other day, I brainstormed the idea that maybe we should have birthday section. The idea has been approved, so, if you want, send us a comment with your birthday and name. Sort of related to that is Ads. If you are a subscribed reader of the Cheese, then you can hold an Ad in the paper for free. So send your advertisement and we will get back to you if yours has been approved. It’s all part of the beginning of a great newspaper. Our main goal here at the Cheese: keep the costumers happy. So read on, and enjoy!
Thanks,
The Weekly Cheese Team

Best Weekend Getaway : The Grand Canyon Skywalk

http://grand-canyon.com/glass_bridge1x.jpg If you are an adventurous person ( and aren't afraid of heights), then you should check out the all new Grand canyon Skywalk. This multi-million pound open-air glass bridge extends over the canyon 70 feet and suspends over the canyon 4,000 feet! Owned and operated by the local Hualapai Tribe. They are working on a visitors center adjacent to the bridge and are making safety precautions so that to prevent slipping into the canyon. (That would definitely hurt) To build the bridge, it will have to be rolled over the edge of the canyon. Then it will be tested. Actually, it isn't part of the real Grand Canyon Park, but part of the canyon itself. It will open in March '09 and will host a 'First Walk'. The first public figure to step on the walk will be announced.
The bridge is open dawn to dusk; $25 per person.
